Implementation of a National Johne's Disease Prevention and Control Program The implementation of the National Johne's Disease Prevention and Control Program is the next step to the project which developed a National Johne's Disease Prevention and Control Program. A funding application has been presented to the Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food Program of Agriculture and Agrifood Canada. In the interim, the project is being funded by the Dairy Farmers of Canada and the Canadian Cattlemen's Association.
To initiate the project, a meeting was held in Calgary on July 19 and 20, 2007 to assess the industry's desire to implement the program. The meeting was held at the time of the DFC meetings in Calgary, was funded by DFC and CCA and facilitated by CAHC. The agenda updated the participants on Johne's Disease on July 19 and then on July 20 provided participants the opportunity to comment on their interest in beginning the implementation process.
